Kognito Website Redesign Project Case Study | Xigen

Kognitio approached us to completely redesign and develop their outdated brochure website.

Their ‘big data’ software is best-in-class and they wanted a modern website which reflected this so we stepped in to facilitate a complete overhaul from the ground up.

Goals included:

Create a responsive website which reflects the modern nature of the Kognitio software.
Provide easy-to-follow journeys to download and install the software or make a support enquiry.
Facilitate a re-brand and reflect this on the new website.
Increase search engine presence by porting and optimising their existing content.

Kognitio speak to both technical and non-technical users alike so their website needs to do the same.

We needed to create distinct journeys for both user groups whilst maintaining a great user experience throughout the site. We also created new templates for forum and documentation sections to make sure the branding remained consistent throughout the website.

The information architecture on the old website wasn’t aligned to any of the new user journeys, so this had to be re-factored and 301 redirects put in place to ensure that the Search Engine Optimisation carried out previously was not lost.

We produced artwork for all key page types across the site, working in partnership with the client to ensure that the output met the expectations of all stakeholders.

Improved architecture

We detailed the information architecture for the new sitemap in order to achieve SEO sign-off and point our developers in the right direction from the beginning.

Once both were agreed, we developed and tested the website across all major browsers and devices before populating the content and supplying back to the client for UAT, prior to launch.
