Xigen was asked to take one of recreate a number of Epson products as 3D versions compatible with augmented reality. This would allow someone, using their phone as a camera, to view the product placed in a real-world environment.

The 3D models were created in-house using product photography made available to us by the client. The photography available was sometimes limited, however by studying the geometry and taking accurate textures from the photographs, an almost-exact copy of the products were created.

These models were then animated in a way that showed off their best features and exported in a format that allowed websites such as Currys to use them as part of an Augmented Reality experience.
